I was pleased to see that it was direct and without rancor. I hope it indicates a softening of your opinion of me and a mellowing of your militant attidude in general.

For several months, I have been considering writing to you but, I had no desire to get into a confrontational correspondence at this late date.

If you have turned down the flame of your "Burner" to "Low" or "Pilot" and would care to start corresponding, use the enclosed envelope.

If you want nothing to do with me, just seal the(empty) envelope and drop it in the mail.
